The Alpina Gstaad

A new icon in the exclusive, discrete and cosmopolitan Swiss resort of Gstaad, The Alpina Gstaad five-star superior hotel has single-handedly redefined luxury and Alpine chic. The Alpina Gstaad is a unique establishment where authenticity combines with Swiss refinement to create an Alpine experience like no other.

All Deluxe rooms with their own private terraces. The Deluxe Rooms Schönried look out onto the picturesque foothills of the Bernese Alps, while the Deluxe Rooms Gstaad offer an awe-inspiring view of the majestic Les Diablerets mountains and the village.

Spacious and comfortable, the Junior Suites are entirely unique. The suites include a large bedroom combined with a lounge area featuring a hand-built natural stone fireplace, both of which offer beautiful and relaxing views over the pastoral Gstaad countryside floor-to-ceiling windows. The Junior Suites are designed true to Alpine style, with contemporary décor set against old wood panelling.

Bathed in sunlight, the Deluxe Suites offer superb views over the traditional village of Gstaad and the Les Diablerets mountains. From the spacious bedroom with its large, en-suite dressing room, to the lounge area and fireplace – every detail lends the suite a unique atmosphere of rare luxury. To create the atmosphere of a private home, the rooms are decorated with genuine locally crafted accessories.

Each suite includes a sumptuous bedroom with a large walk-in closet, a spacious dining area for entertaining friends, a separate working area with a desk, and an impressive Alpine-stone fireplace. For a little more privacy, the suite’s second lounge provides a quiet space in which to read and relax. Large French doors open up onto a private and spacious south-facing terrace with breathtaking views across Gstaad and the Les Diableret mountains.

The only one of its kind in the world, our Panorama Suite sets the bar for a new idea of Alpine luxury. The duplex apartment has three bedrooms over two floors and offers superb views both to the north and the south. The rooms flow naturally into one other, and centre around a huge main living room adorned with a grand fireplace and floor-to-ceiling chimney piece. A grand staircase leads up to the top floor of the suite, where the skylights frame the mountain peaks perfectly. Guests will find their own private spa, Jacuzzi, fitness and massage area, another fireplace, and a bedroom with classic timber latticework and its own veranda.

The Alpina Gstaad’s Executive Chef, Marcus G. Lindner, supervises each of the establishment’s three exceptional restaurants, ensuring excellence across the board. Inspired, precise and creative, the chef’s dishes are an ode to authentic food and the finest produce. Michelin-starred Marcus G. Lindner expertly orchestrates The Alpina Gstaad’s culinary offerings – from the surprising and inventive cuisine of Japanese restaurant MEGU, to the gourmet dishes served at the restaurant Sommet, to the authentic local fare and cosy ambience of the Swiss Stübli.

An enormous floor-to-ceiling window connects the interior with the bar’s outdoor terrace, providing with the feeling at the very heart of the mountains while still close to the fireplace and the bar. Using an eclectic collection of spirits from all over the world, expert bar staff mixes an extensive selection of cocktails from all-time classics to the slightly more avant-garde.

Housed right at the heart of The Alpina Gstaad, the Six Senses Spa is a true sanctuary of peace and well-being, to be enjoyed by guests and locals alike. Inspired by Asian traditions and drawing its energy from the Alpine heart of the Bernese Oberland, this unique oasis of serenity offers world-renowned treatments designed to indulge the senses. All the senses are stimulated, with cocoon-like spaces that flow into each other, the natural contours creating a soothing realm for self-reflection and focused wellness. An indoor pool, garden pool, gym and yoga studio are among the facilities, but it is the therapists who turn such opportunities into a holistic, meaningful spa journey with enduring results.

Aiming to go beyond the expected, The Alpina Gstaad combines passion and an innovative vision to offer a unique platform for art, beauty and freedom of expression. Beauty is first and foremost related to the senses. Lascaux’s paintings, Constable’s landscapes, Tchaikovsky’s waltzes, Keats’s poems and Oscar Wilde’s writings all strive to define life’s purpose, a process which occurs through experiencing art. Art should always have an emotional effect, whether negative or positive, on those experiencing it. There is no right or wrong in art, only opinions.
